Mail
Inmates recieve mail on days mail ordinarily runs through the United States Postal Service.  To send an Inmate mail address the envelope as follows:
"Inmate Full Name"

Rules for Mail
  • CONTRABAND IS ANY ITEM NOT AUTHORIZED BY THE JAIL. 
  • MAIL AND PACKAGES FROM THE PUBLIC SHALL BE OPENED, CHECKED AND INSPECTED FOR CONTRABAND. 
  • LEGAL MAIL IS ONLY MAIL WHICH IS COMING OR GOING TO ATTORNEYS, COURT CLERKS OR JUDGES. 
  • LEGAL MAIL SHALL BE SEALED BY THE INMATE WHEN GOING OUT. INCOMING LEGAL MAIL WILL BE OPENED IN INMATE'S PRESENCE AND INSPECTED FOR CONTRABAND WHEN COMING IN. 
  • WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY MAIL WITH ANY BODY FLUIDS ON IT. 
  • MAIL *MUST* HAVE A PROPER "TO AND FROM" NAMES WITH A PROPER GIVEN OR LEGAL NAME, FOR EXAMPLE: NO BABY CAKES, HONEY, SWEETS ETC. 
  • MAIL *MUST* CONTAIN A CURRENT ADDRESS TO AND FROM ALL PARTIES. 
  • MAIL *MUST* BE ADDRESSED ON IT'S APPROPRIATE SIDE WITH NO PICTURES OR WRITING ON THE OUTSIDE 
  • NO XEROX COPIES OF ANYTHING, BESIDES LEGAL DOCUMENTS, UNLESS APPROVED BY THE JAIL ADMINISTRATOR, SHERIFF, OR UNDERSHERIFF. 
  • THERE WILL BE NO CONTACT BETWEEN CURRENT INMATES AND PERSON(S) WHO HAVE BEEN IN PAWNEE COUNTY JAIL WITHIN SIX (6) MONTHS OF PERSON(S) RELEASE DATE.
  • ANY MAIL FOUND WITH CONTRABAND WILL BE CONFISCATED. 
  • ANY MAIL THAT IS FOUND TO BE HAVING A FRAUDULENT NAME OR ADDRESS WILL BE PLACED IN THE INMATE'S PROPERTY.
